This scheme was devised to connect outlying properties onto the First Time Sewerage scheme, thus upgrading them from the use of septic tanks and reducing harm to the local environment caused by private drainage systems.
The scheme required the excavation of sewers, manholes and pumping stations, along with the necessary telemetry and maintenance equipment.
The scheme, which serves a population of over 50,000, has been in operation for over twenty years.
